In a lovely
interview with Thomas Hayden Church, I ran across this line:
A year after moving to the ranch full-time, Church was clearing a fence line, the only person for at least 30 miles, when he had what he calls "an epiphany, if an epiphany can be sad. I suddenly had this notion that somewhere, right then, Tom Cruise was making a movie. I called my agent and said, 'I need to refocus.' "In other words, he realized that somewhere in the world,
evil was being done, and he had to put on the superhero tights and stop it. The world with one less Tom Cruise movie, a better place? I think it's possible.
So look at your surroundings today and think,
Are my actions preventing a Tom Cruise movie? If not, we need to refocus, people!
