Well, at least I had the PSA at the end pegged. Apparently this was simulcast with Showtime, of all things! Quel surpris! The overall melancholy of the movie with momentary bits of humor really matched the book... I seem to remember her speaking a whole lot less... she seemed so solitary the whole movie, and it seemed less like she was avoiding people and more like she wasn't being heard in the novel... but I may need to re-read now.
