If you're forwarding a conspiracy theory, I take your point. But which softens us up for which? "Star Wars" prepares us for capri pants, or capri pants . . . paves the way for "Star Wars." Either way, mindless mass consumption involving very little judgment.
I'm just saying.
Hmm...that's hard to say. Both have been around for a very long time...long enough to seep into the mass consciousness. I believe Lucas wants us to believe that Yoda is hip enough to enjoy the latest fashion trends, no matter how silly or unbecoming. To be fair, Yoda did not flash his ankles until Revenge of the Sith.
